This group is for the discussion of chess in general, chess for visually impaired players, and other BCA matters.

To join, you must be a member of a national or international chess association for visually impaired players or working for the BCA. The BCA committee may invite other people to join at its discretion.

Technical help

Joining the group is usually easy but some BTInternet users have found that they could not reply to the invite email. If this happens, contact customer services for further help. has a strict policy regarding members flagging messages as spam. Unfortunately, email providers can sometimes flag emails as spam automatically and report the fact to When this happens, will remove you from the list. Fortunately, there is a link in the email that you can use to quickly resubscribe. If this keeps happening you should add the group's email address to your email provider's list of safe senders or contact list.

The group is moderated by members of the BCA appointed by the committee who have the following discretionary powers when addressing inappropriate conduct:

  • Removing any content that in their opinion is inappropriate.
  • Issuing a private, public or final  warning to a member.
  • Permanently or temporarily Removing a member from the Group.
  • Members can appeal to the BCA committee whose decision will be final.
