The BCA website was set up last year to accept payments via WorldPay for events, membership and equipment and also donations. In March this year our WorldPay service was upgraded to enable payments to be made in Euros. When you reach the WorldPay secure payment page the default currency is Sterling, but a drop down menu offers the option of paying the equivalent value in Euros.
WorldPay is just one option for making payments to the BCA. I am still happy to receive cheques through the post, made payable to “Braille Chess Association”, and you can use telephone or internet banking, sort code 40 52 40, account number 00082456.
I would like to repeat what I told the AGM, that our finances are in good shape largely due to Julia Scott’s excellent fund raising work. Also, Sean O’Brien left the BCA a very generous legacy which was received in November.
